Pull up a Seat Photo Challenge 2019-Week 48

A PHOTO CHALLENGE OF PLACES WE SIT…OR MIGHT SIT…OR ART ABOUT SITTING

Welcome to week 48 of the Pull up a Seat Challenge in 2019.

Take a load off and share a favorite perch by linking your post to this one, either with a comment or ping-back. For more detailed directions go to Pull Up a Seat page.

It is always fun to see the variety of ideas.

My contribution for this week:

One of the few new holiday traditions I’ve picked up in recent years is to check out the Gingerbread Village in downtown Seattle.

It is a relatively modest thing to do, there are four entries and it takes only a half hour or so to check them out. However, I really love the creativity and attention to detail that goes into each “house”. Every entry is a team effort of a child with Type 1 diabetes, architects and pastry chefs. This year the theme was about Elves. Here are some sweet park benches from one of the sculptures:

It’s worth it to make the images bigger (just click on one of them) to check out some of the creative details. Forgive image quality, please, the lighting in the display room is rather odd, and one has to work around other people, enjoying the “houses” and casting shadows.

Over to you!
