I get it now.
“The Donald” is clearly running on a platform of “no lives matter”. No one is worthy of life, let alone respect, unless you are his current flavor of the day…and not always even then, or for long.
This week’s insights:
New Coronavirus Strategy
We are all supposed to hurry up and catch the latest coronavirus (this will, conservatively, result in over a million more deaths, even using a low side estimate, 0.5%, for death rate). It’s really not so bad, because old people are expendable, right? Also, we don’t need any weak losers, with or without pre-existing conditions. Need to keep The Economy going. (“The Economy” means stock prices. Not regular people being able to pay rent and buy food.)
First Amendment Lack of Rights
The “counter protesters” he is encouraging seem to be promoting the fascist message that, not only do Black lives NOT matter, but anyone who agrees with the premise that Black lives matter is expendable as well. Very like Hitler going after people helping the Jews.
Military Service
Anyone who has served or now serves in the military, and especially those who took risks and got injured, captured or killed serving our republic, are suckers and losers, according the draft dodger in chief.
In summary:
So, there you have it: no lives matter. Unless your name is The Economy you are expendable.
According to polls, that is clearly okay with a bunch of folks. I don’t get that; and I wonder how many of those who fought against Hitler in WWII, would feel that way. But they are expendable losers by the current value system.
I leave you with the confession by Martin Niemoller, a Holocaust era Lutheran pastor:
First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—
Used at The United States Holocaust Memorial
Because I was not a socialist.
Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a trade unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.
It can, and is, happening here.
We need to vote.
