The wind changed yesterday

The cold north wind began in the middle of the day yesterday, to chase the clouds away. We awoke to a cold clear morning.

The morning after.

Reminded me of the Lord of the Rings.

In Seattle the north wind usually brings clear weather, in the winter it can be very cold, since the wind is coming from Alaska and Canada. A long time ago I wrote this description of how I loved the cold, very clean north wind when I was a child: Winter wind from the north.

      1. According to a quick search on the WWW, there are two reasons why the sky is purple: (1) volcanic eruptions – which I doubt that is happening near you – and (2) from water droplets fracturing light before a storm – which sounds more likely.
