My contribution this week:
Amie-Lu and I are still out and about. A couple of days ago we were in Arles. I was fascinated to learn about the old Roman arena. How they had turned it into housing then changed their minds and turned it back into an arena. They have bridged the gaps where the stone seats aren’t there anymore with bleachers. They use it today for bull fights.

As a result of being on travel I may be a little slower than usual to approve ping backs.
Very interesting. It is great to see this spot! https://mrssheckysblog.com/2021/09/17/a-bugs-seat/

It’s good that they changed their minds about the housing estate.

hope you are having safe travels – and the area is very cool.
Also so interesting to see how they used it for housing and then it went back to an arena

Good wishes your way for a wonderful trip, interesting how that arena could have been housing

It must have been the origin of tiny housing!

Those old roman arenas have history that is palpable. Bull fights?

The bulls still enter from the corridor used for animals in the Roman times, and the matador comes in where the gladiators did. It was disturbing.

Hmmm. I can see why.
