Whatsoever is lovely…day 14

Camelia

It looks like it belongs somewhere exotic, but we are experiencing a “pineapple express” an “atmospheric river that comes from the tropics. Rain, rain and more rain, but fairly balmy compared with usual (high 50s Farenheit).

Gan Xingfu (chasing happiness) 赶兴福

This November I am chasing happiness by photographing and sharing one lovely thing I see each day. I do edit the photos, often with an artistic effect like the one above, because playing with a lovely thing makes me happy.

Note: My son checked with his co-workers and, while they haven’t heard the phrase gan xingfu, they thought it was just fine to use.

For more explanation about this project check out this post: Whatsoever is lovely…day 1.

This is posted for Nanopoblano and Cee’s Flower of the Day.

  1. So nice, I’ve never heard that term before, “pineapple express” interesting. 🙂 Here we have a term, you may know, “indian summer” for autumn season. This year, we didn’t really have it. It got cold fast, we have already about a foot of snow and more on the way.

    1. We also get Indian Summers. More and more I hear the term “atmospheric river”,we never used to use it. Pineapple Express is what I’ve heard from childhood (a long time ago!) I think it comes because they thought the warm wet weather came from Hawaii.
