Do you remember when columbine was just the name of a flower?

The Columbine Massacre was on my son’s tenth birthday. He is 33 now. There are many adults today who do not remember a time before school shootings were routine.

I have trouble typing the word Columbine for the same reason. Unresolved tragedy.

When the shooting occured, Columbine was the closest high school to where I lived. I worked for a rather large company and it sent a shock wave through the building. It was a horrible day and time. I can’t see a columbine flower without thinking of that day. Columbine is Colorado state flower too.

Gorgeous columbine pics. I was in high school when that happened. What a gut check it was at the time. Now it has become routine and that is just horribly tragic.

Some beautiful flower photos you have.
And it is so sad to hear about these tragedies and losing such young lives.
