I am not a particular expert so I don’t know whether this is technically echinacea. These cheerful souls were enjoying the morning sunshine in my neighbor ‘s parking strip.
I’ve noticed that these wasps really go for my leek flowers. Most other bees don’t seem too jazzed by them, or maybe they just prefer lavender.
On today’s morning dog walk the crocosmia caught my eye. It had already caught the eye of the local bees.
However, the real flower of my day today was my niece, who is taking a real interest in construction these days:
This is heart warming to her structural engineer aunt, we are already discussing the need for a strong foundation…and she is getting it!

Even though I live in the city, some neighbors have sunflowers in their parking strip. This past sunny weekend they looked like suns on stalks.
On this morning’s dog walk I noticed that several of the century plants in our neighborhood are in bloom.
