Some pops of orange color from around the neighborhood last week for
Travel Words’ Life in Colour: orange…and for Cee’s Flower of the Day.
It seemed like everywhere I looked I saw gold. Paris is a gilded city.
Some was on the rooftops:
Some was in the monuments:
Bridge des Invalides Our Lady of the Pidgeons. La Bastille
Some was in the details:
And dino made me laugh:

When I think of China I think of the color red. These are some photos from trips I took there in 2014.
The Chinese love the color red. It symbolizes fire and happiness…along with a lot of other things. This article talks a bit about that:
Lucky numbers and colors in Chinese culture.
China red is a classic paint color and Pantone has a Chinese red:
PANTONE 18-1663 TPX Chinese Red
RGB 190 34 57 HEX/HTML BE2239
How does this compare to the reds I actually saw in China?

My neighbor’s Lily
This is the last photo I took in July. As I looked at it I realized that it has an extraordinary range of red in it: From the rusty red of the pollen through burgundy in its speckles over to magenta in the petals.
I may need to try and do some art with this one.

I don’t get around much so all of y purples tend to be what’s blooming in the neighborhood these days.
Life in Colour: purple.
Bright eyes and a bushy tail in the bright pink cherry blossoms.
The bright spot of Ginger’s day yesterday was espying a squirrel in the blossoms.
Ginger likes to keep an eye on the little rascal in the tree.
It looked like it had snowed cherry blossoms…hard to believe there are any left in the tree.
