Inspired by Bren of Brashley Photography in some of her recent posts, I experimented with powder painting using the GIMP instead of Photoshop. While I’ve had some success, I feel like I’ve barely scratched the surface of the technique.

The center of my tree peony flower was his by a chance sunbeam that made its way through the thickening canopy of our Japanese maple tree.

Everyday I walk the dogs along a similar path. They like to sniff around near this little cherry tree. I sniff the tree with my black artificial nose.

Cactus flowers always seem impossible to me: the low-key green, stubby, prickly stems don’t seem to go with the ethereal and delicate and brilliant exotic flowers.
This lovely was blooming when I went for a walk this morning.
