Raindrops on a flag iris




It is fun the way the drops magnify the details in the petals.
These are supposed to be our last raindrops for a while…it has turned bright and sunny and is supposed to stay that way for a bit.
Teeny-tiny purple flowers


Verbena, maybe? These were in the desert beside a gas station in Arizona last spring. Between the wind and the puppy pulling on the leash it’s amazing that the photos are clear…and that I didn’t take a tumble.
Mountain asters

This year while at Mount Rainier we saw a great deal of the mountain aster in some of the meadows. Like the white flowers I mentioned in Scintillating Meadows, the pale purple can also catch and reflect light, causing the meadows to look like they are full of sparks of light.
