A sunbreak on a stormy day

Today was very stormy. Fortunately for the dogs the brief break in the weather coincided with a low enough tide that they could have a brief run on the beach before those dark clouds arrived and started dumping on us.

This November I am chasing happiness by photographing and sharing one lovely thing I see each day. I do edit the photos, often with an artistic effect like the one above, because playing with a lovely thing makes me happy.

Note: My son checked with his co-workers and, while they haven’t heard the phrase gan xingfu, they thought it was just fine to use.

November gold

Lovely weather today makes a nice change of pace. It’s been a calm golden day, a mere pause though: Yesterday was very dark and rainy and I saw an article that called our upcoming weather pattern a “roller coaster”.

A nine-patch of Hadrian’s trees

In 2018 we walked Hadrian’s Wall from coast to coast. These are just a few of the trees we saw along the way. Often the trees were referred to as land marks in our guide book. I included two views of the “most photographed tree in England”. Who am I to buck tradition?
