I know there are about a ka-jillion blog posts out there called “x travel tips you must follow”, “y things you need to pack” or similar. I have yet to find one that isn’t affiliate marketing. My tips are not. Nothing to buy, just some stuff I’ve learned, and maybe you can share what you’ve learned and we can have some fun.
These are things I have learned, by trial and error, or serendipity, from traveling both as a tourist and when I go to stay for a while and be with real people, at home and abroad.
Who am I?
I am not a skinny-mini, perfectly coiffed and physically fit “social influencer” who can learn a new language and bounce up a mountain before breakfast. I am a middle-aged (on the down hill side), moderately active, well-rounded traveler, in more ways than one. I like both saving money and being comfortable (who doesn’t?).

I like people, but I am a bit shy.
I like seeing pretty things and having new experiences, within reason, but I am not exceptionally bold…or athletic.
